Welcome to the website of Lowcountry Art by Cara . My passion for art was ignited during childhood visits to European museums with my parents, where I was fascinated by the numerous exceptional pieces on display. In high school, I received awards for my artistic achievements and was selected to attend the prestigious Governor's School of Arts. As a young adult, I transitioned to jewelry design, apprenticing under John Henry Whitmire at Whitmire's Fine Jewelry. Under his guidance, I developed skills in pearl stringing, stone setting, soldering, and jewelry crafting, supplemented by formal training from the esteemed Gemological Institute of America. I found great fulfillment in creating original designs and casting silver and gold sea life charms designed by the owner, which I would embellish with diamonds or sapphires.  Having lived in the south for most of my life, my creativity focus on wildlife and nature I encounter on a daily basis around my farm and while spending time in the Lowcountry of Pawleys Island. I then turn these magical encounters into inspiring recreations on canvas for the world to enjoy. I invite you to explore my works and look forward to seeing you at exhibitions.
